Neighborhood Pace Car Program!
The Pace Car Program is a citizen-based effort to calm traffic on neighborhood streets, thereby improving the safety and quality of life of all Elverson residents.

Welcome to the
The Purpose of the Program
How it Works
The Pace Car program originated in Australia and is currently
being implemented in many cities across the country.  The idea is simple: it uses cars to calm cars, merely by encouraging
motorists to drive the legal speed limit on neighborhood streets
and be courteous to pedestrians and cyclists.  Motorists take
a pledge and display the FREE official Pace Car sign on their car so the motorists behind them know why they are driving courteously.

Pace Cars make it safer for children and adults to walk and
cycle.  If you care about the safety of your community, want to
keep neighborhood streets from becoming expressways, or
want to make Elverson a safer, more relaxed place to live,
then the Pace Car program is for you!
"A child's risk of being killed
when hit by a vehicle traveling
at 30 MPH is about 40 percent.

The Pace Car Program needs people who are willing to set a good example by driving the speed limit and being courteous to pedestrians and cyclists.
Neighborhood Pace Car Pledge
"Recognizing that my driving speed impacts the safety and quality of life of others, I pledge to obey the speed limit, be courteous to pedestrians and cyclists, and display the official Pace Car sign."
By clicking on the above button, you are acknowledging that you agree to adhere to the Neighborhood Pace Car Pledge.  A FREE official Elverson Pace Car sign will appear on the next screen (requires Adobe Reader), which can be printed on your color printer and taped to the inside of your car's rear window. For best results, print it on photo paper.
